What is better Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement plans (medigap)?
In short, neither one is better than the other. It depends on the person, their situation and budget. Medicare supplements (Medigap) is a great option for people looking for ultimate flexibility, freedom and have serious health concerns. Note you will have additional premium on top of Medicare for your Medigap policy and would still need to purchase a Part D plan and any dental, vision hearing as well. Medicare advantage (Part C) is very smiliar to group insurance. You typically have HMO/PPOs, co pays for different services but everything is bundled into one policy such as drug coverage and other services which vary based on plan such as dental, vision, hearing. They typically have no to very Low additional cost to join on top of your Medicare Part B premium. In short, the coverage between them work differently.
